BY ROAD.
The direct route:
Take the M6 to the M56 and the A55 towards N Wales. Follow signs to Holyhead but take the turn to Caernarfon. From there make for Porthmadog. At Tremadog go straight on (towards Beddgelert) and turn right after Prenteg to Garreg Llanfrothen. Turn left at T, go past the Brondanw Arms and turn right at lodge house with large archway and sign post “Croesor 2 miles”. Keep on climbing until the crossroads then turn left into village. Tresaethon is the terrace just past the telephone box in the village.
The pretty route:
From the M6 take the M54 and A5 to N Wales. At Capel Curig turn left to Beddgelert and left over the bridge in Beddgelert towards Portmadog.
Turn left again over the bridge in the Aberglaslyn Gorge towards Garreg and Penrhyndeudraeth. Turn left after the 30 MPH sign at the lodge with the archway. Then follow directions for Direct Route.
BY RAIL
The nearest train station is at Penrhyndeudraeth, less than 5 miles away. A taxi would be needed to Croesor but once at the cottage there is a regular bus service to nearby towns.
